Thomas Dudley’s award-winning foundry division has successfully won the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s coveted Best Use of Technology Award.
The combination of advanced engineering technology, a uniquely skilled team and true ‘can-do’ attitude helped win this award as the Foundry offered a level of flexibility that is simply unsurpassed.
A UK based company approached Thomas Dudley to help produce castings within an exceptionally tight deadline. When the customer provided a simple sketch, Thomas Dudley’s engineers produced a CAD/CAM design and 3D printed prototype within hours. Patterns were then produced on day two and finished castings manufactured on day three to help make the seemingly impossible, possible. To add, the Foundry’s customer driven culture meant that these resources were made available immediately.
Mick Cramphorn, Foundry Director at Thomas Dudley commented: “We’re extremely proud and honoured to receive this prestigious award. To be recognised for Best Use of Technology highlighting our Foundry capabilities is significant. To turn around a new casting project within days and provide customers with the reassurance of knowing that we can deliver castings in any grade of iron, in any required volumes and at times to suit their manufacturing requirements, within 24 hours from stock is an achievement to be proudly recognised for within the industry. I’d like to thank all those involved in the project. Results such as this support the Company’s commitment to working with customers as a value-adding, strategic engineering partner.”
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards took place in November at Wolverhampton Racecourse to celebrate the best in business across the region and were sponsored by Ramada Park Hall Hotel & Spa. Thomas Dudley Ltd has also been shortlisted to represent the West Midlands in the national British Chambers of Commerce Business Awards 2017, which take place in London in November 2017.
The Thomas Dudley Group, which has recently celebrated winning the Black Country Chambers ‘Business of the Year’ and ‘Innovation’ awards last year, has delivered exceptional growth in recent years and as a world class manufacturer, is continuing to invest in infrastructure, technology and people.
